Background of The Hans Foundation
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.
The Hans Wellness Centre Project:
Hans Wellness Centre project, initiated by The Hans Foundation, aims to improve the physical, mental, and social well-being of school-age children, which can help them lead a healthy life with dignity. Partnering with schools with a greater number of children from the economic weaker section group, this project aims to provide primary healthcare by pairing the interventions of diagnosis, treatment, counselling and prevention related to the children's physical and mental health concerns with the support of qualified teams.
Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, management, monitoring, budget management and successful delivery of the Hans Wellness Centre (HWC) project. The role will ensure effective service delivery, team management, resource utilisation, stakeholder coordination, compliance and achievement of project objectives within approved timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overall Project Management
- Lead end-to-end implementation of the HWC project across all assigned locations of Delhi NCR.
- Develop project plans, timelines, milestones and implementation strategies.
- Monitor project progress against approved objectives, deliverables and timelines.
- Identify operational challenges and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Ensure smooth coordination between programme and support functions.
- Monitor availability and proper management of medicines, consumables, medical equipment and other all required resources.
- Conduct regular field visits and assess centre performance and service quality.
2. Team Management
- Lead, supervise and mentor the HWC project team.
- Define responsibilities, monitor performance and support staff capacity building.
- Ensure effective manpower deployment and address team-related operational issues.
- Promote accountability, teamwork and professional work culture.
- Define Key Result Areas (KRAs) for the project team in alignment with THF’s strategies and approach.
4. Budget, Procurement & Resource Management
- Budget planning, tracking and ensure utilization on monthly, quarterly and yearly.
- Support project budgeting and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
- Coordinate procurement of medical equipment, medicines, consumables, infrastructure and other project requirements.
- Ensure procurement is aligned with approved specifications, quality standards and organisational processes.
- Monitor assets, inventory and vendor performance.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with school authorities, healthcare professionals, vendors, government representatives and other relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication with internal organizational departments and senior management.
- Represent the project in meetings and reviews as required.
- Address stakeholder concerns and ensure timely resolution.
6. Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
- Establish and monitor key project performance indicators.
- Ensure accurate and timely collection, analysis and reporting of project data.
- Prepare periodic project reports, presentations and management updates.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with THF policies, procedures and project requirements.
- Support audits, assessments and project reviews.
7. Quality Improvement & Risk Management
- Identify project risks, operational gaps and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement appropriate mitigation and corrective measures.
- Ensure continuous improvement in service quality, operational efficiency and beneficiary experience.
- Document best practices, challenges and lessons learned.
Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioral, Language, Certifications etc.)
- Minimum of 8 years of experience, including at least 3 years in project management or coordination within the social development sector after obtaining a relevant degree. Exceptional cases may be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a high-functioning consulting environment and project management within a school setting.
- Proficiency in computer applications and office software (MS Word, Excel, etc.), with strong knowledge of spreadsheets and databases.
- Ability to handle diverse project management tasks, including design, planning, implementation, data management, and reporting.
- The role requires frequent intra-city travel and occasional visits to Regional Office in Delhi and Head Office in Gurugram.
- Proficiency in English is required.
